Welcome to the Kent County Preschool Intake. This is a step by step process to determine if your child is eligible to attend a FREE preschool program in Kent County--Great Start Readiness Program or Head Start.
Please be aware that according to the new state guidelines, all children must be 4 on or before September 1st for the 2016-2017 school year.
Based on the information you provide, a determination will be made for which program your child may be eligible. Once a decision has been made about available preschool placements, you will be contacted by staff from GSRP or Head Start to continue with the enrollment process. Before your child can begin preschool, you will need to provide required documentation.
Completing the intake process DOES NOT guarantee your child a preschool placement.
Upon completion, if it is determined that your child does not meet eligibility criteria for free preschool, you will be directed to other preschool opportunities available through Great Start Connect
If you have questions about this process, or would like to complete an application, you can call the Preschool Intake phone line at (616) 447-2409. Thank you for your interest in free preschool opportunities for your child.
